| The Mosaic Multicultural Foundation was
established by renown storyteller and mythologist Michael
Meade to help pull the broken pieces of community into
an authentic and meaningful whole. It sponsors evening
to weeklong events addressing issues of youth and elders,
initiation, and the arts. It has a number of components,
including Voices of Youth and Voices of Community, aimed
at bringing out the vital voices for cultural and spiritual
change in our country. Luis Rodriguez has been working
with this organization since 1994, including with West
African shaman Malidoma Some, American Buddhist Jack Kornfield,
and South Central L.A. mentoring advocate Orland Bishop.

| A sister organization
to Tia Chucha's Café Cultural in New York City,
the Bowery Poetry Club, co-founded by renown poet and
international poetry advocate Bob Holman.
The Bowery Poetry Club, 308 The Bowery
between Houston and Bleecker, at the foot of First Street
across from CBGB's in Downtown New York City, is Tia
Chucha's east coast sister. We have poetry 24/7, and
if you say "Tia Chucha" you get your coffee
free! Come visit -- say hi to Bob Holman, who is inspired
by Luis Rodriguez to make a poetry for the people. |
